Joy Hruby
Joy Elaine Hruby, OAM, [1927) is a former Australian actress, comedienne, TV presenter, producer, film-maker, author and agent with a career spanning more than 50 years. Joy is the presenter and producer of her own program, "Joy's World", which is screened weekly on TVS (Television Sydney). Her contribution to the arts and entertainment was recognised with an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) in the 2007 Queen's New Years Honours List. "I can't believe it," Joy said of her award. "How can they reward someone for doing something she loves doing?" (www.joysworld.biz).
Joy is the mother of two daughters, actress Anna Hruby and Janette, a film location caterer, and a son, Frank, who is a cameraman. Her late husband Denny was a professional pianist.
Joy has written a wartime memoir called ''Dubbo Dazzlers''.〔
